CivUnion Cloud

When we merged the CivReign and CivRevolution projects one of the major motivations for this was the cost of hosting servers at the scale needed for engaging civilization experiment experiences. To facilitate this we have created the CivUnion Cloud which allows us to quickly deploy and host Minecraft servers without the massive costs of traditional hosting.

Services for other Civ Projects

As the CivUnion project’s overall goal is the growth of Civ as a genre we are also happy to provide server resources to other projects working with the Civ plugins. At this time we are able to provide servers for development and closed tests and projects wishing to join the CivUnion organization will also be provided hosting for their production servers.

We take a mostly hands off approach as to what shape member project servers take allowing them to manage their server and create the experience they want for their players. Behind the scenes, member projects share code and ideas, cooperate on promotion of the civ genre, and by their cooperation help accelerate adoption and growth of the genre.

What does it cost?

There is no fixed charge for projects who use CivUnion Cloud services or join CivUnion as a member project. If a project creates a Patreon, a web store, or another source of revenue for their project they agree to pay a percentage of their revenue to CivUnion to help cover hosting and support costs. No project goes into debt paying for hosting on CivUnion.
